Vintage Bronisław Kopczyński Warsaw Old Town Market Square Print | Framed Polish

$89.00Price

A beautifully framed vintage Polish cityscape depicting Warszawa – Rynek Starego Miasta, or Warsaw’s Old Town Market Square, attributed to renowned Polish painter and graphic artist Bronisław Kopczyński (1882–1964).

The detailed architectural scene captures the historic character of Warsaw’s Old Town, with its distinctive colorful façades, red rooftops, figures walking through the square, and an ornate streetlamp framing the view. The Polish title “Warszawa – Rynek Starego Miasta” is handwritten-style beneath the image.

Kopczyński was especially known for documenting Poland’s historic architecture. According to the Museum of Warsaw, he devoted more than six decades of his artistic career to recording Polish architectural monuments, and Warsaw’s beloved Old Town became the subject of the largest body of his work.

A Little History

Bronisław Kopczyński was born in Warsaw in 1882 and became known as a painter, draftsman, and graphic artist. His architectural views preserved the atmosphere and character of historic Polish cities, with a particular devotion to Warsaw’s Old Town.

His documented body of work includes lithographs and watercolors of Warsaw architecture, and auction archives record works specifically titled Rynek Starego Miasta—Old Town Market Square.

This scene offers a glimpse into one of Warsaw’s most historically significant and recognizable locations and reflects the type of architectural subject for which Kopczyński became known.

Why It’s Unique

This is more than decorative European artwork—it represents the visual documentation of historic Warsaw through the work of an artist celebrated for preserving Poland’s architectural heritage.

The detailed cityscape, Polish inscription, warm architectural colors, and ornate gold-tone wood frame create a beautifully collected Old World presentation. The layered neutral matting with a metallic gold accent further complements the artwork.

A wonderful piece for a gallery wall, library, study, office, or European and Old World-inspired interior.

Condition

Vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. Minor spotting and small marks are visible on the matting, consistent with age and previous display. The ornate gold-tone wood frame shows light surface wear. The artwork remains beautifully presented beneath glass.
