Antique French “Joyeux Noël” Christmas Postcard – Hand-Tinted Couple and Tree |

A romantic authentic French Christmas postcard dating to the early 20th century, approximately 1905–1915. This beautifully composed scene features an elegantly dressed couple admiring a decorated Christmas tree, with a snowy village church visible in the background.
Selective hand coloring adds soft shades of green, turquoise and red to the otherwise sepia-toned photographic image. Holly leaves and red berries frame the scene, while miniature toys and gifts decorate the snow-covered tree.
“Joyeux Noël,” meaning “Merry Christmas,” appears in decorative lettering at the upper left. The lower right is marked “762 Velouté,” likely identifying the card’s series number and soft, velvety photographic finish.
The reverse has a divided postcard back and remains completely unused, with no handwriting, stamp or postmark.
